ScribbleVet’s story starts with Potato. Potato came into my life as a foster fail - a scrappy, opinionated rescue dog from the streets of Mexico, with a long list of health problems. Over the last five years, she’s taken me to the vet more than 50 times and accumulated hundreds of pages of medical records along the way.
At the time, I was deep into AI, using pre-ChatGPT models to understand the limits of what was possible. I listened closely as friends and colleagues told me about how AI was beginning to transform human healthcare, dramatically reducing the administrative burden for doctors and nurses.
Every veterinary visit with Potato made me wonder, why was nobody bringing equally powerful AI tools to veterinary medicine? Why did the teams taking care of some of our most precious companions seem largely overlooked by the tech world?
I've spent almost twenty years in startups, and built and sold other companies, but for me, ScribbleVet is different. The conviction that veterinarians deserve tools just as powerful as doctors has driven me from day one.
